The rights to the unseen mechs still remain the same. Those of you who don't know what the unseen mechs are, here's the list of the mechs that will NOT be appearing in mechwarrior online:

that's why they have "reseen" versions

the reseen designs are fine to use

The Unseen may indeed be seen at some point, but the Unseen artwork won't.

Sarna is like Wiki for Mech... The information in there is mostly fan and player listed. That being said the Unseen are the MODELS , not the names of the mechs. They can redesign and call the mech the same name, and guess what, its the same mech minus the Copy right laws.

If your going to Troll I suggest you put more effort into it, I give this **** 1 and 1/2 flushes. To be a true troll master, you have to work up to 4 flushes.

It will never happen. If they were to redesign them, they would not be the same and should have a new name. And if they are even close to the original, they will just end up in court again. Unfortunatly, I think we just need to let the unseen become legends and just move on.

and also... it is ONLY the art that is banned. if they were to make a mech with an identical hardpoint/armor/speed/etc layout, that looked different, it would be OK

things like this should not happen inside a single series, its so stupid. Why can the mechs from one company used in a previous mechwarrior games not be used in a following mechwarrior game by a different company?

I dunno; the Jaegermech looks a lot like a redesigned Rifleman. If I see a bunch of redesigned unseen named something new, I am still OK with it. It's going to bring back the same feelings I had for the originals. I know i want a Jaegermech for sure based on nothing more than its similarity to the old rifleman; even if it is significantly different.

Y'all know that not all of the Unseen are from the same anime/manga series. The ones from Macross: Marauder, Rifleman, Warhammer, and Stinger are the ones that harmony gold has been harassing Battletech over. The others should be alright, though i am not too sure of all the artwork that harmony gold has distribution rights to.

Dev has said the issue of Unseen/Reseen has already been resolved. As for the actual implementation, we've been given no insight as to what that is.

It's kind of a moot point until they reveal to us what they've done.
